prf injections boise

your own blood. your own collagen. just you.

Introduction

what are prf injections

PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a biostimulatory injectable treatment that uses your own blood to support collagen production.

A small blood draw is spun in a centrifuge to isolate growth factors and fibrin, which are then injected into targeted areas, most commonly the under-eyes.

Results develop gradually over several weeks, and a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best outcomes.

PRF is priced at $600 per session.

At The Dose Collective in Boise, Idaho, PRF injections are performed exclusively by Kelli Dougherty, BSN, RN.

questions

prf injection faq

the stuff everyone asks.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) are both derived from your own blood, but PRF is the newer, more advanced version. PRF is spun at a lower speed, which preserves more white blood cells and stem cells in the final product. It also forms a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors slowly over time instead of all at once. Think of it as a longer-lasting, more concentrated version of PRP.

The blood draw feels like any routine lab draw — a quick pinch. For the injections, we use injectable lidocane and a cannula to keep you comfortable. Most clients say it's very manageable. The under-eye area is sensitive, so you'll feel some pressure, but it's not the intense experience people tend to imagine.

A series of 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart is the standard recommendation. PRF works by stimulating your body's own collagen production, and that process compounds with each treatment. Some clients see noticeable improvement after one session, but the real results typically show up after the full series.

Not immediately. PRF is a gradual treatment — it's stimulating your body to produce collagen, which takes time. Most clients start noticing changes around 2-4 weeks after their first session, with continued improvement over the following months. The best results are often seen after completing the full 3-session series.

Under-eyes are the most common and popular area for PRF. It can also be used for overall facial skin quality, fine lines, and areas where you want to improve texture and tone without adding volume. Kelli will assess your specific concerns during your consult and let you know if PRF is the right approach.

Expect mild to moderate swelling for 2-4 days, especially in the under-eye area. Some clients also experience light bruising. It's not the kind of thing that keeps you home, but you might not love how you look for a few days. Most people go back to work the next day. We just ask that you skip intense workouts for 24 hours.

Yes, in most cases. PRF and dermal filler treat different things — filler adds volume, while PRF improves skin quality. They can work well together. If you have existing filler in the area being treated, Kelli will evaluate at your consult to make sure the timing and approach make sense.

Always. If it's your first time here, you'll start with a consult ($50, applied toward treatment). If you want to get treated the same day, book the "same day treatment consultation" option and we'll do the consult and treatment in one visit. Nothing ever happens without a conversation first.
