general questions

frequently asked injectable questions

the dose collective is a med spa in boise, idaho, offering Botox, Dysport, Lip Filler, Dermal Filler, PRF Injections, Sculptra, and Filler Dissolving.

every treatment is performed by kelli dougherty, BSN, RN.

each treatment page has its own FAQ section specific to that service.

these cover everything else: booking, pricing, first visits, and general questions about injectables.

first injectable appointment questions

it depends. if you've had injectables before and know what you want, you can book a "same day treatment consultation" appointment, which includes a quick consult and same-day treatment. if you're brand new or want to talk through options first, book a virtual or in-person consultation. either way, the $50 consultation fee goes toward your treatment.

kelli will look at your face, talk about what you're wanting, and build a plan with you before anything happens. no pressure, no upselling. if it's a consult-only visit, you'll leave with a plan and pricing. if you booked same-day treatment, you'll get treated that day. most appointments take 30-60 minutes.

that's literally what the consultation is for. a lot of people come in saying "i want Botox" when filler would actually address what's bothering them, or vice versa. kelli will walk you through what each option does and recommend what makes sense for your face and your goals. you always have the final say.

yes. book the same day treatment consultation. it's a $50 deposit that goes toward treatment. kelli does a consult at the start and treats you that same visit. if you end up wanting something different than planned, you can always reschedule the treatment portion.

book a consultation, either virtual or in-person. kelli will talk through your goals, explain what each treatment actually does, and tell you exactly what it would cost. there's zero obligation to book treatment. most first-timers start with Botox or a mini lip filler depending on what's bugging them.

injectable pricing and payment

Botox and Dysport at the dose collective are $12 per unit. most faces need between 20-60 units depending on which areas you're treating, so a typical visit runs $240-$720+. kelli will tell you exactly how many units you need before she starts.

lip filler starts at $700 per syringe. if you want something very subtle, the mini lip filler is $450 for a half syringe. most people do one syringe for their first time. kelli will help you decide how much you actually need.

yes. affirm is available as a payment option at checkout, so you can split your treatment cost into payments if approved. we also accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. your $50 consultation fee is applied directly toward your treatment, so you're never paying extra just to come in and chat.

a few reasons. some charge per area instead of per unit, which sounds cheaper but you have no idea how many units you're actually getting. some use newer products with less data behind them. some have rotating injectors with varying experience levels. at TDC, you always know your per-unit price, exactly how many units you're getting, and kelli is the only person who will ever treat you.

no. the $50 consultation fee is applied as a credit toward any treatment you book. so if you get Botox for $900, you pay $850 at your treatment appointment. the fee just holds your consultation spot.

general injectable questions

different tools for different things. Botox (and Dysport) relaxes muscles to smooth lines caused by movement, like forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet. filler adds volume using hyaluronic acid gel, used for lips, cheeks, chin, jawline. different problems, different solutions. some people get both.

both are neuromodulators that do the same thing. different manufacturers, slightly different formulations. some people respond better to one than the other, and some notice Dysport kicks in a day or two faster. pricing is the same for both at TDC. kelli can help you figure out which one based on your history and goals.

Botox and Dysport typically last 3-4 months. lip filler lasts 6-12 months depending on your metabolism and the product used. cheek and jawline filler can last 8-12 months. Sculptra results build over time and can last 2+ years. kelli covers all of this during your consultation so you know what to expect.

yes, when administered by a trained and licensed provider. Botox, Dysport, and hyaluronic acid fillers are all FDA-approved and have decades of clinical data behind them. the most common side effects are mild bruising and temporary swelling. serious complications are rare and almost always related to injector technique, which is why who does your injectables matters.

not here. kelli's approach is conservative, especially with new patients. the goal is always that you look like yourself, just with fewer lines or a little more balance. you can always add more later, but you can't take it away. starting subtle is the move.

there's no right age. some people start in their early 20s for prevention, others start in their 40s or 50s to soften existing lines. preventative Botox uses fewer units and can keep lines from getting deeper over time. the best time to start is whenever it makes sense for you.

yes. hyaluronic acid fillers (which is what we use for lips, cheeks, and jawline) can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. it breaks down the filler and your body absorbs it. kelli offers filler dissolving at TDC. results are visible within a few days.
